Sign up for a Pet First Aid Workshop

Would you know what to do if your dog suddenly choked on a bone? What if your cat ate a toxic substance, like chocolate? Do you have a plan for your pet in the event you need to evacuate your family from your home? Learn how to prepare for and prevent emergencies and how to provide temporary, urgent care to cats and dogs until they can reach a veterinary or emergency clinic.

We now offer two types of classes!

Pet First Aid Basics  is a two-hour class for anyone with pets in their lives. We will focus on prevention and early identification of pet emergencies, and practice techniques for bleeding control, giving CPR, and helping a pet who is choking. Cost: $65.

Pet First Aid and Disaster Response is a 4 ½-hour class for people who are looking for a more comprehensive understanding of emergency care, including how to prepare for situations that require evacuation or sheltering in place. Participants will receive a copy of the Pet First Aid and Disaster Response Guide. Successful completion of the course earns a certificate from the Emergency Care and Safety Institute, perfect for pet professionals! Cost: $125.

All programs take place at Seattle Humane in Bellevue (13212 SE Eastgate Way). Please contact educationservices@seattlehumane.org with questions. Click the button below to view upcoming sessions and register.

  • Support Shelter or Community Pets

There are so many ways to support pets in the shelter or in our community!

Conduct a Pet Food/Supply Drive for the Pet Food Bank.

A helpful way to support pets in need is to organize a pet food drive. Donations of pet food, supplies, and toys are always appreciated. Many of these items are distributed through our Pet Food Bank which helps provide nearly a one million meals each year to help keep pets with their families. You can find information about our most-needed items on the Pet Food Bank page.
