Searching for the perfect gift for that someone on your list who has everything? Want to find a meaningful way to give back this year? Here are five ways to bring cheer and joy to the wonderful pets of the world and their caretakers.
Tribute gifts:
If you lost a furry friend or know someone else who had to say goodbye to their fur baby, consider a memorial donation to celebrate their life. You can make a donation in memory of a loved one or pet here. When you support Seattle Humane, you are helping to provide dogs, cats, and critters with food, medical care, and shelter until we can find them homes of their own.
Beyond a monetary donation, you can set your love in stone too. Consider purchasing a brick or paver for the special pets or animal-loving people in your life. Bricks and pavers are installed annually in Seattle Humane’s “Walk of Fame,” which is prominently located on the sidewalk located in front of our Adoption Center. Brick and paver purchases are tax-deductible donations and provide life-saving care for homeless animals. Payment plans are also available.
New Year, new fun:
Make the transition into each new month in 2020 exciting with Seattle Humane’s hot-off-the-press calendar! Grab your copy today at the Mudlet (located in Seattle Humane’s adoption lobby) or any eastside Mud Bay location. Each month of the calendar features an adorable Seattle Humane alum or pets of our dedicated supporters!
This calendar features beautiful pet photography by Anna Hoychuck. If you want to see your pet featured in 2021, mark your calendar for Tuxes & Tails on May 9, 2020 – you can bid on your favorite month or your pet’s birthday month at the gala!
Home Sweet Home:
We have several adoption specials this month to send our sweethearts home for the holidays. Visit the shelter if you’ve been thinking of adding to your fur family! Our December promotions are as follows:
- Whisker Wonderland | Dec. 6-8: $25 off cat and kitten adoption fees.
- Not Home Alone | Dec. 13-15: $50 off all adoption fees.
- Our Gift to You | Dec. 23-27: $25 off all pet adoption fees.
See adoptable dogs and cats here.
Spread the adoption love:
It’s best we don’t surprise our unwitting friends or family with a pet they are unprepared for. Too many unwanted pets end up in shelters over the holidays already. But, you may know someone who’s very ready to adopt a new furry family member. If that’s the case, you can order an adoption gift certificate from Seattle Humane to go toward a friend or family member’s adoption fee. What a milestone to gift! You can inquire about adoption certificates in our shelter adoption lobby.
As another option, if you’d like to help out a specific pet at Seattle Humane, you can sponsor their adoption fee! We know how it feels to want to “take them all home” (if we only could). This is a great way to help your favorite shelter pets and their lucky new adopters. Their new family will be so appreciative of your support. Happy holidays from our fur family to yours!
